1. Contest period

Entries open October 1, 2026 and close on October 15, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. CST, or at the moment the qualifying snowfall (Section 4) occurs, whichever comes first.

2. Eligibility

● Open to residents of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.
● Entrants must own or rent a residential house located within Saskatoon. Condominiums, townhouses, apartments, duplexes, acreages, and commercial properties are not eligible.
● One entry per household. Additional entries from the same household or address will be disqualified.
● Current Readers Yard Care customers are eligible.

3. How to enter

1. Like our giveaway post, follow @readersyardcare, and tag three friends. Share it to your story for an additional entry.
2. Complete the official entry form linked below and in our bio. An entry is only valid once the form has been submitted. Comments without a completed form will not be counted.

Each entrant may submit one guess. Guesses cannot be changed after submission. Guesses must be a calendar date between October 1 and December 31, 2026.

4. How the first snowfall is determined

The “first snowfall” is the first calendar day on or after October 1, 2026 on which the Environment and Climate Change Canada official daily climate record for Saskatoon Diefenbaker International Airport (YXE) reports snowfall of 1.0 cm or more.
● Environment and Climate Change Canada’s published daily data is the sole and final authority. Flurries, trace amounts, or snow observed elsewhere in the city do not count. This provides consistency and a fair way of knowing the winner of the contest.
● If Environment and Climate Change Canada later revises the record, the record as it appears at the time the winner is announced will stand.

5. Selecting the winner

● The winner is the eligible entrant whose guessed date is closest to the first snowfall date, measured in calendar days before or after.
● If two or more entrants are tied, the winner will be selected by random draw from the tied entries. The draw will be recorded on video and posted to our social channels.
● The winner will be announced on Instagram and Facebook within three (3) days of the first snowfall being confirmed by Environment and Climate Change Canada.
● The winner will be contacted by email and phone using the details provided on the entry form, and must respond within five (5) days. If no response is received, or the winner is found ineligible, an alternate winner will be selected using the same method.

6. Prize

● One (1) winter of residential snow removal service from Readers Yard Care Inc. for the winner’s home address as provided on the entry form, from November 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027. Approximate retail value: $2,000 CAD.
● Service includes clearing of the driveway, front walkway, and city sidewalk adjacent to the property, on Readers Yard Care’s standard residential service schedule. Hauling, ice control products, roof clearing, and back yards are not included (but can be added for an additional cost).
● If the winner’s address cannot be serviced by an existing Readers Yard Care route, the winner will instead receive a $2,000 credit toward any Readers Yard Care service, valid for 12 months from the date of the announcement.
● If the winner is a current Readers Yard Care snow removal customer, the value will be credited to their account.
● The prize is non-transferable and has no cash value. Service is provided only at the address submitted on the entry form.
